Get Started: Import Products from WooCommerce

You can use Ablestar WooCommerce Importer to migrate products from WooCommerce to Shopify.

We recommend migrating your products before customers or orders. This will give you more time to edit your product detail pages, and is generally good practice to import products before migrating orders.

Step 1: Enable the API

Follow this procedure to collect your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret credentials and then copy/paste those credentials safely. We will use these in the next step.

Step 2: Connect your Site

From the Ablestar WooCommerce Importer dashboard, add your API credentials to the 'Connect a new WooCommerce site' section:

  • Store domain name: formatted similar to `https://mydomain.myshopify.com/
  • Consumer Key: similar to a username (always starts with ck_
  • Consumer Secret: similar to a password (always starts with cs_

Click the Begin Migration button to trigger the connection:

Step 3: Product Import

Once connected, click the Manage import button and scroll down to the 'Products' section. Choose the option required:

  • Re-Import all products (this may create duplicates)
  • Only import new products

And then click the Import products button to begin processing.

If you have 20 or fewer products in your store, all your products will be imported to Shopify. Additional products can be imported with an upgrade.

Step 4: Confirmation

At this point, you can click the Download log button to export a list of all products imported. We recommend reviewing the products on the log spreadsheet and your Shopify admin to make sure they were transferred as planned.

If you have any questions about what data transferred, take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions or get in touch.
