Number Fields: 'How to Edit' Options Explained

You have several ways to change number fields in Ablestar Bulk Product Editor, either by percentages, fixed amounts or based on other field values:

1. 'How to Edit' Options

  • Decrease by percent: Decreases the value by the percentage you enter.
  • Increase by percent: Increases the value by the percentage you enter.
  • Change by fixed amount: Change the value by a positive or negative number.
  • Set to fixed value: Sets the value to the specified number.
  • Set to lowest price from last x days: Most often used to manage the European Pricing Indication Directive.
  • Set as percent of Compare-at Price field: Sets the value as a positive or negative percentage of the compare-at price. If the compare-at price is empty for a variant it will be skipped.
  • Set as percent of Cost field: Sets the value as a positive or negative percentage of cost. If the cost is empty for a variant it will be skipped.
  • Change by percentage: Changes the value by a positive or negative percentage.
  • Set to null / blank: Updates the field to be blank or null.

2. Rounding Options

The 'Rounding' dropdown gives you several different ways to round your number fields:

  • Don't Round the value: Ensures the value will not be rounded.
  • Round decimals: If you enter a value like 99 the decimal portion of the value will get set to that number. If you enter a value less than 50 the value of the decimal will be rounded to the nearest increment of that value.
  • Round whole number: The value will be rounded, up or down, to the nearest increment of the value.
  • Round whole number up: The value will be rounded up to the nearest increment of the value.

The following table lists some examples for different rounding options:

Rounding Type Value You Enter Original Price New Price
Round decimals 95 $12.36 $12.95
Round decimals 20 $12.36 $12.40
Round whole number 1 $12.36 $12.00
