How to edit SKUs
You can use Ablestar Bulk Product Editor to modify SKU fields in bulk. SKUs are usually alphanumeric numbers that can be used to help identify products and track inventory.
Choose if you prefer the 'In-App Edit' or 'Spreadsheet' method:
1. In-App Edits
From the 'Configure modifications' view, there are several 'How to edit' options available to bulk edit your SKU data:

Optionally, you can choose 'Add dynamic value' to pull in other data from your store, instead of manually inputting the term to be replaced. For example, if you want the SKU to be equal to the barcode. Learn more about Dynamic values here.
2. Spreadsheet Edits
Since we are editing variant-level fields, it is important to specify a variant-level identifier in the first column and the action items in the 2nd and subsequent columns, similar to:
- An identifier column (in this case 'Variant ID')
- An action column that contains the text being modified
Variant ID | SKU |
44859168063713
|
10005 |
44859168096481
|
10006 |
If you are unsure of the Variant ID, you can export all of your product data to look for the 'Variant ID' column.
Spreadsheet values are case-insensitive and leading/trailing spaces will be removed during processing.
