Managing Imported Data

The Ablestar WooCommerce Importer app allows you to view a CSV summary of your imports and to delete any items you've imported before. In this article, we'll cover how to do this.

 In order to follow along, you should have:

Viewing Previous Imports

We refer to an 'import' anytime the Ablestar WooCommerce Importer app uploads data to your Shopify store. In practice, this means either products or orders.

You can see a list of previous imports by opening up the Ablestar WooCommerce Importer app. You should see the page that allows you to manage your import:

(If you don't see this page, click on the Manage button on the top right of the app and choose the WooCommerce site you're importing.)

To view a list of previous imports

  1. Click Advanced on the top right of the app. 

If you scroll down, you will see a page like this:

The page will list each import along with the options to either view a CSV summary or delete the imported items.

The Ablestar WooCommerce Importer app generates a CSV summary of each import you run. The summary will show which WooCommerce items match up to which Shopify items as well as any errors in the import. 

To download the CSV summary:

  1. Click on CSV Summary on the Advanced page of the app.

The mapping of WooCommerce to Shopify items can be useful if you need to import additional data from WooCommerce and need to line it up with the correct products.

Deleting Imported Items

Sometimes it's helpful to start from a clean slate. If you want to remove items you've imported to Shopify: 

  1. Click on Delete All on the Advanced page. 

The app will remove the products or orders for you.

Note: If items are deleted, it is not possible to recover them. If you plan on re-importing data from WooCommerce, make sure that your WooCommerce site is still accessible (in other words, if you've already moved your domain to Shopify and want to reimport data, contact us before deleting anything).
