How to Remove a Tag from Multiple Products

When you import products using Ablestar WooCommerce Importer , the app automatically adds a unique tag to all products. This is done so you can find and manage the imported products and delete duplicates if you have to run an import twice.

Once your products are all set up, you may want to remove the tag from the customer view.

Remove the Tag

From the Shopify admin, navigate to the 'Products' view:

  1. Click and open the 'Search' function
  2. Search and select the required tag from the Tag filter button

3. Click on the checkbox next to any product(s) you want to remove tags from

4. Once you check all products, a 'More actions' menu (three dots) appears. Click the Remove tags option.

  1. A popup will appear where you can choose the tag you want to remove. Select the tags you need to remove and then click the Save button to process.

If you have a large number of products, it might take a couple of minutes for Shopify to remove all the products while the app is running in the background.

Regenerate the Collection

Once you have removed all tags, you can verify from the frontend that the tag is no longer visible.

In some cases, the deleted tag might persist on the collections page due to a known Shopify bug.

You can create a new 'all' catalog page using these instructions as a workaround, so that all deleted tags disappear from the page.

Bulk Edit Products

If you need to make other edits to your store, Ablestar Bulk Product Editor allows you to edit multiple products from either a custom search or by uploading a CSV spreadsheet.

You can easily configure the app to decrease the price, change the description or revise variants in bulk and you have unlimited edits just by installing the free plan.
