Use Cases for Product Tags
You can use Ablestar Bulk Product Editor to modify product tags in bulk and we have seen several useful examples implemented in our user's Shopify data.
Overview
Tags are a vital component of any store organization. They allow you to categorize and label products in a way that makes your data more efficient for your business.
By assigning tags, you can:
• Improve Organization: Tags help you categorize products, making it easier to find and manage them within your store.
• Enhance SEO: Well-structured tags can boost your store's search engine optimization by improving the discoverability of your products.
• Facilitate Customer Navigation: Tags can also help customers navigate your store more effectively by providing clear product classifications.
How to Edit Options
Once your product set is filtered, from the 'Configure modifications' view, you have several 'How to edit' options:
1. Change Capitalization
From the same 'Configure modifications' view:
- Field to Edit: "Tags"
- How to Edit: select 'Rename tag' from the dropdown
- Find tags that are named: specify the existing value for the tag (ie "shirts")
- Rename them to: specify the new value for the tag (ie "Shirts")
When tags in Shopify are compared they are considered case-insensitive. For example, the tags 'on-sale' and 'ON-SALE' would be equal.
Click Run edits to apply and save all changes.
2. Adding or Removing Tags
From the same 'Configure modifications' view:

✅ Tips and Troubleshooting
- Shopify functionality processes all tags as case-insensitive (ie "promo" is recognized the same as "PROMO")
