How to Archive or Draft Product Status
The product status field is intended to help manage products before they are ready to sell and after the sale is finished. You can use Ablestar Bulk Product Editor to edit the Product Status field in bulk.
Choose if you prefer the 'In-App Edit' or 'Spreadsheet' method:
1. In-App Edits
The Status field only has three options:
- Draft: Product becomes unpublished and can be re-published at a later time. Users will not be able to find this product from the store view.
- Active: Product is now visible from the store view.
- Archived: Product become unpublished and removed from the admin view. Users will not be able to find this product from the store view, and admins can re-use or re-publish again later if needed. All data analytics are retained.
To delete any product, return to the Shopify Admin view instead.
2. Spreadsheet Edits
Prep your spreadsheet to include the product-level identifier in the 1st column and your Product Status in the 2nd column similar to this format, noting that the valid values for this field are not case sensitive:
Product ID | Status |
8362144760033 | active |
8362144760034 | Draft |
8362144760035 | archived |
From the 'Spreadsheet edit' view, click to upload your new data, confirm and map your columns and click Run edits to process.
Only new or modified data that is found on the spreadsheet will be processed and added to your store.
