Bulk Editing the Custom Product Field for Google Shopping

Customized products are unique and built-to-order. The Custom Product field allows you to collect customization information for these products. Typically these products have many variants, such as furniture with different materials and colors. Or they may be personalized, like t-shirts with printed logos and picture frames with names engraved.

This article will show you how to bulk edit the Custom Product Field using an in-app edit and by uploading a spreadsheet. 

In order to follow along, you should have:

• The Bulk Product Editor app installed on your Shopify store
• A properly formatted Spreadsheet 

Using an in-app edit:

1. Open up the Bulk Product Editor app
2. Select Products & Variants
3. Search for the products you would like to bulk edit the custom product field
4. Select Edit Products
5. Field to Edit: Custom Product
6. Choose whether this is a custom product
7. Select Run Edit to set the fields

Using a spreadsheet edit:

To bulk edit the Custom Product field using a spreadsheet, you will need a spreadsheet that looks like this:

You can use the following values to show whether a product is a Custom Product or not.

If a product is a Custom Product:

• Yes
• TRUE
• 1

If a product is not a Custom Product:

• No
• FALSE
• 0

1. Open up the Bulk Product Editor app 
2. Select Spreadsheet Edit near the top of the left-hand side of the screen.
3. Once the Bulk Product Editor has analyzed your spreadsheet, in the Custom Product column, choose Is Custom Product
4. Select Run Edit
