Importing Customers without Importing Orders
In most cases, the first thing you'll move from WooCommerce to Shopify is your products, and then you will follow with orders and customers. In some cases, you may only want to import the customers.

Linked Orders vs. Un-Linked Orders
In order for the Ablestar WooCommerce Importer to create links between your orders and customers, both orders and customers must be imported via the app.
In the image below, the products were imported first; then, the orders and customers were imported. We see a link to the order, and we also see a link to the purchased product. If the products had not been imported first, we would see the product's name but not the link. Read more on skipping the product import here.
In this image, customers were imported by themselves, without any product or order import. We can see that the customer does have an order history, but we cannot see the details of the order.
