How to Disable Automatic Order Emails

When you migrate orders to Shopify using Ablestar WooCommerce Importer, you might want to disable notifications being sent to existing customers.

By default, customers will not receive an email when you import orders, but if any changes have been made to the Checkout settings in your Shopify admin, you may need to update another setting before importing orders.


To make sure emails are not triggered to customers when you run an import:

  1. In the Shopify admin, click the 'Settings' gear icon menu  
  2. Click the 'General' submenu
  3. Scroll to the 'Order processing' section 

  1. Ensure that 'Automatically fulfill the order's line items' is NOT checked
  2. Click the Save button to apply any changes

Now you can import the orders, and notifications will not be sent to customers. You can always revert this setting later if needed, once the import is complete.
