Exporting Data to the Matrixify Format
Ablestar Bulk Product Editor now includes the ability to quickly export Matrixify formats. Matrixify is another editor application that allows you to manage, edit and export data with some key differences.
Since we keep a live copy of your store data in our database (rather than retrieving data through API connections), downloads are much faster using our app, when compared to download speeds of Matrixify.
We also provide instant previews of edits and the ability to undo recent edits. See a full Matrixify and Ablestar Bulk Editor comparison here.
In the case you need a Matrixify Excel or CSV file format for other applications, here is how to export:
Configure the Export
From the Ablestar Bulk Editor dashboard, click the 'Exports' navigation menu. Once you are on the 'Export Data' view, you can choose several file formats, including the Matrixify Excel and CSV file formats:

Generate Spreadsheet
Select the format you would like to export:
- Matrixify Excel (.xlsx)
- Matrixify CSV Zip File (.zip)
Configure additional columns and preview the edit options to confirm. When ready, click the Generate spreadsheet button to start processing.
The export will start processing and a progress view will appear with the option to Cancel if needed.
Feel free to close this progress view and return later, as the data will continue processing in the background.
On completion, you can click the Download button to save locally, and rename your export by clicking More Options → Rename.
View History
To view all past spreadsheets, click 'History' from the navigation menu and then the Exports tab. Filter further by clicking the 'Repeating exports' or 'One-time exports' tabs. From these views you have several options:
- Download: click the download icon next to each row for a new copy
- Rename: click any row in history and then More actions → Rename
- View configuration: click any row in history and then More actions → View Configuration to see your original parameters for the download
- Generate: regenerate any previously used examples to capture the most recent data updates
Keep in mind the older spreadsheets will have old data, so if you have made any changes since the spreadsheet was generated, those changes will not be included in the older spreadsheet, and it would be safer to generate a new one.
✅ Tips and Troubleshooting
- Regenerate your past spreadsheets if you think data has been manually updated to include the most recent information from your database
- Matrixify file formats can be used with several other Shopify applications
- Using our bulk editor to export Matrixify formats could save you download time and offer you robust editing functionality
