Feature: Advanced Search Functionality
Ablestar Bulk Product Editor allows you to search products to include a smaller subset of items for bulk edit, which saves processing time on edits.
From the app dashboard, click the Start an in-app edit button or click the 'Products' menu from the left sidebar.
Once the 'Product' view appears, enter any term or keyword in the search bar to narrow down your product set and apply additional filters to export or edit:
Simple Search
Using a simple search is great for finding a few products with only one term. In the case that I need to find all products with "lv8" in the title, my search would return only 3 products:
Enter any matching key term in the search field and click Search or the Enter key to apply.
By default, the app will search for any product with matching meta in these fields:
- Title
- Vendor
- Product Type
- Tags
- Description
Specific Products
Using the filter for a specific product is helpful to find multiple key terms in the same set of data.
In the case that you need to find multiple products with multiple terms "lv8" AND "acx", you will click the filter button as the first step:
- Select 'Specific product' from the filter dropdown
- Once the popup window appears, search the first term and select the checkbox of each product required:
Clicking the Select button will close the modal or you can insert a 2nd and 3rd term to choose more products.
The 'Products' view should now have a preview and a filter present for each product that you selected:
Click to Run edits once you are ready to continue configurations.
Advanced Filters
Here are some of our favorite filters for specific sets of data. Try pulling up any of these filters by clicking the filter + button to experiment:
- Blank: this will pull up the 'Compare at price is blank' filter so you can find all products that are missing the compare at price
- Duplicate: this will return the filters options for Duplicate Barcode, SKU or Titles and help you clean up inventory that is missing key data
- Image: you can highlight only inventory that "has" or "doesn't have" images
- Price: several options are available for price related filters like:
- Compare at price is blank
- Price < Compare Price
- Price = Compare Price
- Price > Compare Price
- Inventory: identify all products with inventory less than or equaling specific amounts
